About Herb Porter
Automotive Pioneer. He introduced the turbocharged Offenhauser that became the dominant engine of Indy-car racing in the 1960s and 1970s. He was inducted into the IMS Hall of Fame , and was a member of the Society of Auto Engineers. Cause of death was from injuries suffered in a car accident.
