H. L. Grimes Funeral Services for Mr. H. L. Grimes, 85 year old Leonard resident, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday June 14, 2014 at the Cross Pointe Baptist Church located at 22025 Hwy. 78 S. Leonard, Texas. Rev. Ed. Long and Rev. Joe Patterson will officiate. Burial will be in the Leonard Cemetery. Family visitation will be Saturday June 14, 2014 from 12 Noon until service time at the Cross Pointe Baptist Church. Mr. Grimes was born April 6, 1929 at Lewisville, TX. His parents were George Raymond and Willie Mae Martin Grimes. He married Jeanette Eggers February 21, 1967 at Dallas, TX. He was a machinist in the manufacturing business, a member of the Cross Pointe Baptist Church and he served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He passed away Thursday June 12, 2014 at Carrus Specialty Hospital at Sherman, TX. He is survived by his wife: Jeanette Grimes of Leonard; daughter & son-in-law: Lynn and Leonard Allen of Melissa; son & daughter-in-law: Keith and Amy Grimes of Lewisville; Daughter: Renae Kennedy of Leonard; daughter & son-in-law: Sharon and David Jones of Sherman; Sons & daughters-in-law: Kevin and Janie Grimes of Trenton and Chuck and Theresa Ritchie of Hudson, North Carolina; his seventeen grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; his brothers: Carl Grimes of Mineola and Claude Grimes of Dallas; his sister: Mary Starrett of Prosper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherry Grimes, and a wife, Freda Grimes.
