About H. Bale

H. Lynn Bale, age 56, of Chatham, formerly of Quincy, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018, at 11:00 am in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Illinois. Lynn was born September 18, 1962 in Rushville, IL the son of Hobson and Linda Lynn Bale. He married Cathy Lafferty September 20, 1991 in Quincy. She survives. Lynn was a graduate of Liberty High School and attended Western Illinois University. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Marketing from Quincy College and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of Illinois Springfield. Lynn was employed by WDM in Quincy before moving to Springfield in 1991. He then was employed at Central Management Services of the State of Illinois. Lynn was a member of Sugar Creek United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Quincy Jaycees, where he served as president, and the Chatham Jaycees. He was a Den Leader for Pack 79 and Committee Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 310. He coached youth soccer, loved golf, and was an avid bicyclist. He and Cathy had a little sister in the Big Brother/Big Sister program in Springfield. Following his diagnosis with Parkinson’s Disease, Lynn loved the Rock Steady Boxing Program at Memorial Hospital and the friends he made there. In addition to his wife, Cathy, Lynn is survived by his son, Christopher James Bale of Chatham, a student at St. Louis University, his parents, Hobson and Linda Bale of Quincy, a brother Terry (Dana) Bale of Louisville, KY, a sister Nicole ‘Nickie’ Scranton of Quincy, six nieces and nephews, Adam, Evan, Nicholas and Kate Bale and Cody (Kristie) and Riley Scranton, and two great nieces Kenna Rae and Scarlett. Services: 11:00 am Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Sugar Creek United Methodist Church, 1022 New City Rd, Chatham, IL 62629., with Rev. Paul Dinges officiating. Burial: Stout Cemetery, Chatham, Illinois Visitation: 9:00 am – 11:00 am, Saturday November 10, 2018 at Sugar Creek United Methodist Church Memorials: Christopher Bale College Fund or Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s at Memorial Sports Care.
