About Guadalupe Saldaña
She was born December 12, 1894 in Brownsville, Texas to Pedro Valdez and Carmen Zuniga and died July 19, 1966 in Refugio, Texas due to cancer of the cervix with metastasis to the liver. She married three times to Juan Casas, Gabriel Guia Saldaña, and Gabriel Valdez. Mrs. Guadalupe Guia Dies; Funeral Services Held Wednesday, July 20 Funeral services for Mrs. Guadalupe V. Guia, 71, were held at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Trevino Funeral Home with Rev. S. G. Ramirez officiating. Interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. today, July 21 in the Beeville Evangelist Cemetery. Mrs. Guia died July 19 following a short illness in the Refugio County Hospital. Mrs. Guia was born December 12, 1894 in Brownsville to Pedro Valdez and Carmen (nee Zuniga) Valdez. At the time of her death she was residing in Woodsboro where she had lived for the last 12 years having moved from Beeville. Survivors are five children; Mrs. Genoveva Vasques and Mrs Rebecca Calderon both from Woodsboro; Mrs. Paula Herrera of Corpus Christi; Mrs. Francis Saldana of Fresnos, Calif. and Christanto Guia of Woodsboro; one half sister mrs. Fidela Garcia of Beeville; 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
