About Gerald Hellenbrand
Gerald "Jerry" Albert Hellenbrand, age 71, of Waunakee, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was born on October 30, 1950 to Leander and Verena Hellenbrand. He graduated from Middleton High School in 1968. Jerry served in the Army Reserves from 1969 -1975 with the rank of Spec 5. He was married to Kristine Laufenberg on May 27, 1972. Jerry started working for Springs Window Industries on the day he turned 18 and retired at age 62, 44 years later. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his three grandchildren. His yard was always filled with colorful flowers. An avid outdoorsman, he loved going up to his land. Lots of fond memories were created through hunting and campfires with family and friends. He also enjoyed hitting the open road in his Mustang. Jerry is survived by his children, Melisa (Bob) Schultz and Justin (Breanna) Hellenbrand; grandchildren, Seth, Seanna and Gavin; his siblings, Marjorie (Clarence) Maier, Richard (Joann) Hellenbrand; sister-in-law, Judy Hellenbrand; Edward (Donna) Hellenbrand; Marilyn (Dave) Barbian; and his close friend, Carol Rowe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leander and Verena; brother, Ronald; and in-laws, Math and Betty Laufenberg. Burial will take place in St. John's Catholic Church Cemetery.
