About George Rabidoux
GEORGE HECTOR RABIDOUX BURLINGTON — George Hector Rabidoux, 97, of 20 Harbor View Road, South Burlington, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at his residence following a short illness. He was born in Mansonville, Quebec, on July 13, 1903, the son of Leon and Aimee (Cariant) Rabidoux. He was educated at the St. Louis Convent in Winooski and at St. Joseph’s School in Burlington. He was married Aug. 22, 1927, to the former Eva V. Parizo, who predeceased him in 1975. George was employed as a weaver at the American Woolen Mill and as a caretaker at the University of Vermont. He was an alderman for the city of Winooski and was a member of the Eagles and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening and traveling. He is survived by one daughter, Jeannine R. Perkins and her husband, Bruce, of Manchester Center; a sister, Celia Gauthier of Winooski; three granddaughters, Lisa Callahan and her husband, Ronald, of Bartlett, Ill, Cindy Weaver and her husband, Richard, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Lynda Perkins and her husband, Michael Summa, of Heber City, Utah; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters and seven brothers.
