About George Haar
George M. Haar, 95, died Sunday, January 10, 2016 at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg. He was the husband of Mary E. (Gruver) Haar, who died April 18, 2002. George was born January 1, 1921 in Adams Co., the son of the late George A. and Lillie (Lehigh) Haar. George was a member of Paradise "Holtzschwamm" Lutheran Church in Thomasville and was employed for many years at Coulson Heel. George is survived by three daughters, Peggy J. Poist of New Oxford, Joyce E. Haar of Abbottstown and Diane M. Nonemaker of New Oxford; four grandchildren, Ivan, Beth, Kathy and Steven; four great-grandchildren, Devan, Dakota, Ali and Cory; and a step great-grandson, Chris. He was predeceased by a grandson, Mark Poist; four brothers, Claude, Glenn, Vernon and Norman Haar; and four sisters, Nora Pohlman, Dorothy Brockley, Myrna Dubs and Blanche Staub. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 10 a.m. at Holtzschwamm Union Cemetery, Thomasville, with his pastor, the Rev. Timothy Seitz-Brown officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Paradise Lutheran Church, 3241 Church Rd, Thomasville, PA 17364 Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, is in charge of arrangements.
