About G. Melton
H/O Betty Whitehead Melton ∼ G. C. Melton, 78, of Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of Betty Whitehead Melton for 60 years. Mr. Melton was a native of Shelby, NC and the son of the late Thomas Moody and Lena Harvey Melton. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam era, a truck driver, and a member of Parkway Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son: Jimmy L. Melton of Spartanburg; daughters: Renelle V. Wright of Marion, NC, Ladena A. Wright of Black Mountain, NC, Malinda S. Epling of Spartanburg, Tracy B. Bull of Spartanburg; brother: George Melton of Kings Mountain, NC; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, two brothers, and five sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Parkway Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at !:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Mitch Edge. Interment will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund, Parkway Freewill Baptist Church, 3615 Parris Bridge Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
