G. Paul Linderman

G. Paul Linderman (1934 - 2014) HINSDALE - G. Paul Linderman, 79, of 1320 Johnson Hollow Road, passed away Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2014) at his residence after a long illness. Born Feb. 14, 1934 in Hinsdale, he was a son of Leland and Helen Fairfield Linderman. On Nov. 26, 1983 in Hinsdale, he married Arlene Perry, who survives. Mr. Linderman was a 1952 graduate of Hinsdale High School and in later years was recognized for his high school athletic achievements by being elected to the Hinsdale Central School Athletic "Wall of Fame." After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served from 1953 to 1955. He was first employed for various periods of time for Dresser Clark Co. and for Acme Electric Co. He also was a bus driver for the Hinsdale Central School District. He worked for over 30 years as a letter carrier for the Hinsdale U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. Mr. Linderman enjoyed playing golf, traveling with his wife, and spending time maintaining his home and yard. In the past he liked to play the trumpet and sing in the church choir and quartet. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Kristen (Bob) Geuter of Olean, Kara (Michael) Chapman of Cuba, and Kenda Neff of Olean; two granddaughters; a stepgrandson; a stepgranddaughter; two great-grandsons; a great granddaughter; two stepdaughters, Cinda Bentley of Florida and Karla Bentley Picco of Olean; a stepson Jeffrey (Susan) Bentley of Olean; 12 step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Kevin Linderman; a stepson, James Bentley; a stepdaughter, Sondra Bentley; two step-grandchildren; a twin brother, Keith Linderman; a brother, Larry Linderman; and a sister, Betty Hatch. Burial will be in Hinsdale Cemetery, Maplehurst. Donations in his memory may be made to the Ischua Volunteer Fire Department. -------------------- Published in The Olean Times Herald on Feb. 14, 2014
