About G. Elrod
Granville Perry Elrod, age 82, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, December 6, 2007. He was a native of Rutherford County and the son of the late Bruce H. and Mabel Dement Elrod. Visitation with the family will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Northminster Presbyterian Church and services will follow at 4 p.m. Dr. John Horne and Rev. Perry Muse will officiate. He is survived by his wife, Annette Lewis Elrod and daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Doug Buroker of Destin, FL, Sarah and Mike Jessie of Murfreesboro; stepdaughter and her husband, Lori and Gary Smithson of Murfreesboro; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mac and Delorece Elrod of Murfreesboro, Watt and Dorothy Elrod of Fort Worth, TX; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Jack Bilz of Dallas, TX; grandchildren and spouses, Marcus and Sarah Jackson of Murfreesboro, David and Yolanda Buroker of San Diego, CA, Jennifer and David Barker of Destin, FL, and Ryan Jessie of Murfreesboro; great grandson, Jonathan Buroker of San Diego, CA. Mr. Elrod was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Bradley Elrod who died in 1997. Mr. Elrod was a 1943 graduate of Central High School and attended MTSU. He served during WWII in the Army Air Corp at Hickam Air Base in Hawaii. He was a charter member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church and was retired from United Service Equipment.
