Freida Edna Gray

Obituary: Freida Edna Gray went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, 2023. Born to Arthur and Alice Sparks in Swedesboro, New Jersey on October 20, 1936, Freida lived in Pedricktown, NJ for most of her life, working in the cafeteria at the Oldmans Township schools, until she moved to Woodstown in 1984. After moving to Woodstown, she continued serving delicious meals at both the Woodstown schools and the Snelbaker Home. Freida was incredibly dedicated to her family and could be often seen at their school and sporting events. In addition to being devoted to her family, Freida was very active in the Woodstown First Baptist Church. She truly had a service minded heart and served in many capacities at FBC Woodstown including as a deacon, on the Mission and Christian Education boards, and participated in many different bible study groups. Freida is survived by her son, Gary Gray and his wife Cathy, of Wildwood Crest, NJ; her daughter, Arlene Ruesswick and her husband Wayne, of Pilesgrove, NJ; her grandson, Patrick Gray and his wife Carrie, of Wilmington, DE; her granddaughter, Amanda McCarthy and her husband Scott, of Mantua, NJ; her cherished great-grandchildren, Gavin Gray, Addison McCarthy, Emerson McCarthy, and Grayson McCarthy; in addition to many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Ira Gray, her son, Mark David Gray, her parents, Arthur and Alice Sparks, and her three sisters, Edith Graham, Mildred Hyatt, and Carol McFarland. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 15th in the First Baptist Church of Woodstown, 117 S. Main St., Woodstown, where friends are invited to visit from 10 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow the funeral service in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to the youth program at First Baptist Church of Woodstown, 117 South Main Street, Woodstown, NJ 08098.
