Florine Barksdale

Florine Barksdale, passed away January 12, 2022, at Hospice Care Center in Little Rock. Formerly of Pine Bluff, and Mount Ida, she was born May 23, 1927, in Emmet, Ark., to Mae and Frank Prescott. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, H.E. Barksdale and sister, Marie Shoppe. She is survived by sons, Hubert Barksdale wife Diane of Little Rock, Frank Barksdale and wife Stacy of Bryant; grandchildren, Scott Barksdale, wife Sophie of Lander, Wyo., Leslie Godwin and her husband James, Spenser Barksdale and wife Trish of Bryant, Dexter Barksdale and wife Jessica of Bryant, Hunter Barksdale of Bentonville and great-grandchildren, River, Parker, Peyton, Lyla June, Nash, Austin, and baby girl due in February. Flo worked most of her adult life as a secretary at Smart Chevrolet, Central Transformer and Coleman Elementary in Pine Bluff. She finished her career at Lake Ouachita Baptist Church. She enjoyed many dear friends through her work, but none more than Steve Smith her Principal at Coleman and his wife Mary Earl and daughter, Carrie, and Reverend Roy Brooks at Lake Ouachita Baptist Church and his wife Myra. Flo was an avid bridge player, achieving Masterpoints at the Bridge House in Hot Springs. Flo will be remembered fondly and sorely missed by her family who has been truly blessed by her love and devotion. She also leaves many friends from her life in Pine Bluff and Montgomery County. Special thanks to The Manor Assisted Living Facility in Little Rock and Hospice Home Care and Center. Due to Covid-19, no services are planned for now.
