About Florence Daddona
WATERBURY — Florence Barquero Daddona, 77, of Waterbury, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after an extended illness. She was the wife of Francis Daddona. Florence was born Dec. 21, 1931, in Quintana Laserena, Spain, daughter of the late Francisco and Scgunda (Galan) Barquero. She moved to the United States in 1957 and worked as a machine operator at Mattatuck Manufacturing for more than 25 years until her retirement. She was a dedicated parishioner of SS. Peter and Paul Church and was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. Besides her husband of 50 years, Florence is survived by her son, David Daddona of East Hartford; a daughter, Marion Szarzynski of Naugatuck; two brothers, Pedro and Luriano Barquero of Spain; a sister, Antonia Barquero Davila of Spain; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Vincente and Victorino Barquero. The funeral for Mrs. Daddona will at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, from Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St., Waterbury, to SS. Peter and Paul Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. Memorial contributions in Florence's name can be made to the American Cancer Society, 1075 Chase Parkway, Waterbury 06705.
