Federico DeLeón

Federico (Lico) De Leon longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away to be with the Lord on Tuesday September 23, 2014 in his home in Moses Lake. Federico was born on December 9th, 1942 in Congregacion Hidalgo, Nuevo Leon Mexico to Cleotilde and Amelia De Leon and had 10 sibling; their family moved to Moses Lake in 1964. On January 4, 1970 he married Agustina De Leon in San Benito, Nuevo Leon Mexico and made their home in Moses Lake. In September of 1970, they were blessed with two beautiful twin girls, Velia and Noelia who brought so much joy to their lives. In 1985, they were blessed with an amazing son, Federico Jr. Federico was a hard migrant worker in Florida, Virginia and California and once he arrived in Moses Lake, he became employed with Perez Farms as a trucker and later on was a foreman with Sunfresh and then a team leader with Simplot from where he retired. Federico loved to sing, he loved his music and often reminisced about his time in Florida and the amazing times that he had with his brothers and sisters growing up and truly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially Jacob the youngest grandchild. He was a great fan of the Seahawks, the Mariners and of WWF wrestling. Federico is survived by his wife of 44 years, Agustina; daughters Velia Gilbert of Moses Lake, Noelia De Leon of Moses Lake and Federico Jr. also of Moses Lake; 10 grandchildren (Jesse, Esmeralda, James, Luisa, Alex, Breahanna, Sabrina, Jenisa, Vanessa, and Jacob and 1 great grandchild, baby Alex.) He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleotilde and Amelia De Leon, his sister Velia Powell, 3 brothers, Alonzo De Leon, Eleazar (Charro) De Leon and Israel De Leon. His living siblings are Lydia (Edelmiro) Garza of Moses Lake, Arturo (Anita) De Leon of Homestead, FL, Noe (Rebeca) De Leon of Hermiston, OR, Cleotilde Jr. (Elena) De Leon of Homestead, FL, Amelia (Mike) Alvarado of Moses Lake and Robert (Anna) De Leon also of Moses Lake and numerous nephews and nieces. Lico will be missed by all of his family and friends; this world was blessed to have him and his memory will live on through his children and grandchildren and family. Funeral services will take place on Saturday September 27th, 2014 at Sendero Life Center at 2227 W. Peninsula Dr at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Guarding Angels Cemetery, 2595 Road L NE.
