About Faina Shiman
My mom was extraordinary and one of the most intelligent people I've known. She was loving, thoughtful, wise, and sensitive. She treasured her family and desired a bright future for us all. She sacrificed tremendously for my brother and me when she moved her family from Ukraine to the US and started her life from scratch. She didn't back down and did the hard work necessary... she learned a new language, got re-educated, found a good job, and even purchased a house... she was always striving for the American Dream. She had 5 wonderful grandchildren, and she also became a great-grandmother. Still, unfortunately, she never got to meet her great-grandson because her life was cut short way too soon by this terrible, incurable illness. I miss her every single day! She is now our Angel in Heaven and is hopefully looking down on us all, smiling. RIP, Mom, we love you more than words can express!!!
