About Evelyn Haack
Evelyn S."Rosy" Wirtjes Haack, 96, a eight year resident of Oakley Courts, Freeport died Sunday at Oakley Courts. Rosy was born February 7, 1914 in Stephenson County, Illinois the daughter of Henry and Anna (Seyfert) Wirtjes. She married Melvin Charley Haack in July of 1932. He died June 24, 1968. Along with her husband, Evelyn farmed in Florence Township. She later was a sales clerk at Weises Department Store. Mrs. Haack was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church. Mrs. Haack is survived by her son, Stanley Haack of Freeport. Her daughter, Marilyn (Fred) Brandenburg of Marana, Arizona. Two nephews, Gene (Lynn) Heeren of Freeport and Rick (Rayann) Heeren of Bloomington, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband. Funeral service will be Friday, 12:00 P.M. in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Tom McClellan Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Oakley Courts of Freeport. www.burketubbs.com
