Eugene A Allen

Eugene A, Allen of Allen Lane, West Middlesex, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 15, 2019, with his daughters at his side. He fought a long, courageous battle against cancer until he was called Home to the Lord. He was 79. Eugene was born Oct. 1, 1939, to Floyd and Frances (Yarian) Allen and was a 1957 graduate of West Middlesex High School. He married Sally Nolder on Sept. 15, 1961. She preceded him in death on April 7, 2017. Eugene worked for 40 years at Greenville Steel Car/Trinity Industries and he also worked the family farm. He loved the outdoors, whether it was working in the garden, hunting or camping. He and his wife were also members of the Sunny Majors Travel Aires Club and were often accompanied by several grandchildren. Eugene was a big sports fan following the Cleveland Indians and West Middlesex Big Reds. He was often seen in the bleachers cheering on his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eugene is survived by his four daughters, Kimberly (Christopher) Webster and Jean (David) Bender of West Middlesex, Amy (Dennis) Butterly of Hubbard and Audrey (Bradley) Harthan of Jamestown; nine grandchildren, Tyler (Megan) Webster, Alison (Carl) Bartel, Noah and Josh Bender, Zachary (Ashley) Allen, Jessica Allen, Samantha Alger, Justin and Rachael Harthan; and nine great-grandchildren, Alysse, Anthony, Chase, Lucas, Ayden, Haley, Rylee, Reagan and Elijah. The family would like to thank all the friends and the church family for the numerous prayers and cards that were sent to Gene the past several months.
