Emma B. Oakes

Emma B. Harr was the daughter of Ruden L. Harr and Eliza B. Piper. She married Montgomery Newton ("Mont") Atteberry, son of Thomas E. Atteberry and Judith E. Remington, on August 3, 1912, in Custer County, Oklahoma; they were married until his death on November 9, 1918. The couple had three children together, two daughters and one son, namely: OPAL LEOTA (ATTEBERRY) [CONWAY] STEWART (1913-1992) [July 20, 1913, Weatherford, Custer County, Oklahoma - September 16, 1992, Alameda County, California], ALFRED NED ATTEBERRY (1915-2002) [May 15, 1915, Custer County, Oklahoma - May 4, 2002, locale unknown {last residence: Yuma, Yuma County, Arizona}], and LENA MAY (ATTEBERRY) [FORD] [DELK] MATTHEWS (1918-2010) [April 15, 1918, Weatherford, Custer County, Oklahoma - November 5, 2010, Alameda County, California]. Emma married Franklin Pierce Jennings, son of William Robert Jennings and Sarah ("Sallie") Silver, on August 21, 1921, in Custer County, Oklahoma; the marriage ended between 1930 and 1940. On the 1930 Census, Weatherford, Custer County, Oklahoma, Emma and Franklin appear together with Emma's three children from her first marriage and Emma and Franklin's two daughters. This couple had three children together, two daughters and one son, namely: FRANCES MARIE (JENNINGS) [BURNS] ECKLUND (1923-1990) [January 7, 1923, Hydro, Caddo County, Oklahoma - November 14, 1990, Josephine County, Oregon], RUBY MAE (JENNINGS) [SANDERS] PEASE (1925-1989) [February 23, 1925, Hydro, Caddo County, Oklahoma - April 1, 1989, San Bernardino County, California], and ROY F. JENNINGS (born and died between 1921 and 1940). Emma married Otis Clarence Brown, son of John L. Brown and Lucinda Strohl, on April 1, 1940, in Billings, Yellowstone County, Montana; the marriage ended between 1940 and 1950. The couple had no children together. Emma married William Thomas Oakes, son of Thomas Seldon Oakes and Josephine Bell Black, between 1940 and 1950; they were married until his death on January 4, 1953. The couple had no children together. On the 1950 Census, Oakland, Alameda County, California, Emma and William Oakes appeared as a married couple; that census was taken as of April 1, 1950.
