About Emil Ober
∼ BERKSHIRE OFFICIAL WILLIAMSTOWN -- Private Funeral Services will be held today for Emil OBER, 66, of 41 Southward Street, a former assistant district attorney for Berkshire County. He died Monday at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. He was born in Boston and attended East Boston High School, Dean Academy in Franklin, and was graduated from Fordham University in 1930. He received his law degree from Boston University in 1932. Mr. OBER was an assistant to the Late Paul A. Dever when Dever was state attorney general from 1935 to 1941. He moved to Berkshire County more than 30 years ago and practiced law in Adams. In 1961 he was named second district attorney for Berkshire County, a post which he held for seven years. Mr. OBER also operated the Park Realty Company in Adams for many years. In 1959 he was named a sales broker for the U. S. Veterans Administration in Adams. During World War II he served as advisory attorney for the Adams Selective Service Board. Besides his wife, Freda (Levine), he leaves a son, Charles J. OBER of Cambridge; a daughter, Mrs. Louise KOVACH of Williamstown; a brother, Harry OBER of Brookline and three sisters, Bertha OBER of Winthrop, Mrs. Gertrude LINN of Boston and Mrs. Mildred COHEN of Manchester, New Hampshire.
