About Elmer Maahs
Elmer D. Maahs, age 74, Wittenberg, died Saturday, December 17, 1977 at Clintonville Community Hospital. He was born May 31, 1903 in the town of Wittenberg, the son of the late Charles and Anna (Siebert) Maahs. On April 7, 1926 Elmer was united in marriage to Ruth Tratz in the town of Morris. She survives. In addition to his wife, survivors include one son, Donald, Wittenberg; six daughters, Marilyn (Kenneth) Gunderson, Ringle, Lois (Alvin) Kielman, Mattoon, Carol (Merlin) Gilbertson, Wittenberg, Jean (Jack) Zeinert, Wausau, Delores Nagel, Wausau and Karen (Terry) Dobbe, Rosholt; one brother, Robert Maahs, Fence, WI; one sister, Viola (Chancie) Long , Wittenberg; 34 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Roy and one sister, Florence. Funeral services were held December 19, 1977 at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Richard Borchers officiated. Interment was in Forest Home Cemetery, Wittenberg.
