Ella Mae Ide

Ella Meta (Dittmer) Ide was born on March 25, 1922, in Arlington, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William and Emma (Bullert) Dittmer. Ella was baptized as an infant on April 16, 1922, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 5, 1936, both by Rev. R. Heidmann at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington, Minnesota. She attended school thru the 8th grade at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Parochial School in Arlington, Minnesota. On March 22, 1945, Ella was united in marriage to Walter Ide by Rev. John Bradtke at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Arlington, Minnesota. Ella and Walter made their home on the Ide family farm in Bergen Township, Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Wallace, Sandra, Douglas and Michael. Ella and Walter shared over 56 years of marriage until Walter passed away on June 20, 2001. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Ella helped Walter on the Ide family farm. She was an active member at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. Ella enjoyed helping on the farm, quilting, cooking, baking and gardening, especially her irises. She cherished the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ella passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 93 years, 1 month and 2 days. Blessed be her memory. Ella is survived by her: Children, Wallace Ide and his wife, Susan, of Lester Prairie, MN, Sandra Otto of Winsted, MN, Douglas Ide and his wife, Bridget, of Hutchinson, MN, Michael Ide of Lester Prairie, MN; 10 Grandchildren, Tammy Mathews and her husband, Kevin, of Glencoe, MN, Todd Ide and his special friend, Cheryl, of Geneva, MN, Tricia Gueningsman and her husband, Andrew, of Winsted, MN, Teresa Schimek and her husband, Dean, of Easton, MN, Brian Otto and his wife, Jodi, of Milladore, WI, Christine Stoltenow and her husband, Mike, of Green Field, MN, Andrew Ide and his wife, Georgia, of Washington, Nick Ide and his wife, Rachel, of Vermont, Joshua Ide and his wife, Katie, of Bloomington, MN, Sarah Lambert and her husband, Jerad, of Mahtowa, MN; 20 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; Nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
