Eleanor Mary Longmuir

Eleanor Mary Longmuir March 27, 1933 - September 26, 2023 Eleanor Mary (Vitanyi) Longmuir, 90, joined other family members and friends in God's eternal kingdom in the early morning hours of 26 Sep 2023. Eleanor was born and raised in Trenton, NJ, and lived there for almost her entire life, except for living in other states when her husband Alfred (Bud) Longmuir was on active duty in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955. Eleanor and Bud raised 5 children in Mercerville, NJ, where she lived from 1957 until 2023, when medical issues took her to Idaho. She spent the last 4 months of her life in an assisted living facility that she enjoyed, entering the Hospice program in mid-August 2023. Over the past few months Eleanor had many visits from children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that made her happy. Her son, John, sat with her throughout the last day of her life, holding her hand and reminding her of those who were sending their prayers and love. She was visited by a Catholic priest who gave her a final blessing. Eleanor was a loving and caring mother who always made sure that her children had all that they needed and more. Some of the fondest memories of her children include Christmas time, birthdays and holidays. Eleanor loved to cook and prided herself on the Hungarian dishes and treats that she made for an appreciative family. She enjoyed many crafts and loved to crochet blankets for her family and friends. Eleanor was a woman of faith, always generous, and willing to lend a helping hand to members of her family and organizations that help others around the world. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and a wonderful friend to many. Predeceased by Alfred (Bud), her loving husband of over 50 years; her parents; her brothers; and most of her closest relatives and friends; Eleanor leaves behind her five children, Mary Ann (Kevin) Junkins, Alfred Longmuir, IV, John (Cheryl) Longmuir, Anna Marie Longmuir, and Rob (Paula) Longmuir; as well as 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives scattered across many states from sea to shining sea. Funeral services will beheld on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Interment will follow at Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville, NJ.
