Eldon Ordell Christianson

Eldon Ordell Christianson died peacefully on Tuesday September 19, 2023. Eldon was a strong man of faith. He took great comfort in his relationship with Jesus Christ and was looking forward to joining his beloved wife Anita in heaven. Eldon, the youngest of two boys was born on December 20, 1933, on the family farmstead in rural Hawley, MN to Edward and Hulda Christianson. Eldon met his cherished wife Anita at Hawley High School in Hawley, MN. They married on June 18, 1955, and settled in the Fargo-Moorhead area where they started a family and raised two loving daughters. Eldon was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything. He was a master electrician and with the full support of his wife used his entrepreneurial talents to open his own business, Christianson Electric. Over the course of his life Eldon used his skills in various side endeavors including flipping houses and buying and selling used cars. His family never knew what they would be driving next. Eldon had an adventurous spirit, he loved to travel, camp, and fish with his family. Many wonderful memories were created. He found joy in using the profits from his projects to provide his family with a motor home for travel and camping, a boat for fishing, and eventually a cabin on Pelican Lake. He was the best Dad; always supportive and taught his daughters they could do anything. He felt it was important for his daughters to know about home and vehicle maintenance, valuable life skills which they still use today. One of his favorite sayings was "if you are going to do a job, do it well". He had a keen sense of humor and could make just about anyone laugh. He would often tell people that he was half Norwegian and half Swedish and, unfortunately, there was no cure for that. Eldon is survived by his children Julie (Rick) Peterson and Vicki Christianson, along with his grandchildren Daniel Peterson and Rebecca (Connor) Doppler. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Anita, his parents, and his brother Eddie Christianson.
