About Elaine Obenauer
Elaine D. Obenauer, 84, Jamestown, North Dakota, died Monday, June 20, 2011 at Jamestown Hospital, under hospice care. Elaine Dorothy Wolsky was born July 25, 1926 in Kensal, ND, the daughter of Emil and Minna (Schroeder) Wolsky. She grew up in the Kensal area and graduated from Kensal High School. Elaine moved to Seattle, WA and lived there for several years, while working for Harborview Hospital. She married Reuben Obenauer on November 14, 1948 in Seattle. They returned to North Dakota and made their home in Jamestown. Elaine worked as an L.P.N. at Jamestown Hospital for over 30 years. Elaine was a member of Atonement Lutheran Church, was a charter member and active in various church functions. She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies included bingo, working puzzles, camping, embroidery and visiting with family and friends. Elaine is survived by her husband, Reuben, Jamestown; two daughters, Patricia Peterson (fiance' Kevin Lueloff), Jamestown and Pam (Robert) Shirley, Rigby, ID; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one brother, LaVerne Wolsky, Des Moines, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents and a great-grandson. Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, North Dakota.
