Edward J Haas

Edward J. Haas, 72, 1520 2nd St. SE, Minot, died Friday, July 19, 2002 in his home. He was born on November 15, 1929, in Zeeland, ND, the son of Adolf and Amelia (Layer) Haas. He moved with his family to Hazelton, ND, where he attended school. In 1951, he entered the US Marines, and served until 1953. He returned to North Dakota following his honorable discharge from the service. He married Vivian (Vi) Brenneise on May 10, 1953, in Streeter, ND. They farmed, lived and started their family near Streeter from 1953 to 1961. They moved to Bismarck, ND, and lived there for two years. In 1963, Ed and Vi moved to Minot, and he went to work for O'Day Equipment Company. He worked there for over 22 years as a petroleum and gas pump technician. In 1986, he went to work at North Hill Hardees. He later worked at DHD Tackle for three years. Ed's favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing, but most important to him were his grandchildren. He treasured watching his grandchildren at their school events and sporting activities, and managed to never miss any of them. Ed was a member and head usher at Immanuel Baptist Church in Minot. Memorials are preferred to Immanuel Baptist Church or Trinity Hospice, both of Minot. His parents; brother, Herman; and sister Janet Miller, preceded him in death. Funeral Service: Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot. Visitation: Monday, July 22, 2002, from noon to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, and prior to the church service on Tuesday. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Officiant: Rev.
