About Edgar McClellan
Husband of Tina (Woodson) McClellan. ..................... Obituary: Edgar Samuel "Mac" McClellan, III passed away surrounded by his family on July 3, 2023. Mac was born on March 31, 1956, and was the son of the late Edgar Samuel McClellan, Jr. and Vilma Nunn McClellan. Mac was married to his wife of 31 years, Tina Woodson McClellan. Mac was a lifelong resident of Clarksville. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Business Administration. After a nearly 20-year career as a tobacconist for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, he obtained a master's degree in education from Longwood University and served as a special education teacher for Mecklenburg County Public Schools for over 20 years. "Mr. Mac," as he was affectionally called, was a reading specialist and touched the lives of countless students. Mac will be remembered for his sense of humor, love of Virginia Tech sports, the days he spent fishing and spending time on the lake, his appreciation for music and a good time. He is survived by his wife, Tina, of the residence; a sister, Mary McClellan Laughinghouse (Larry) of Danville; a nephew, Tyler Simms Laughinghouse of Richmond; and his fur companions, Rivah and Hobo. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to Lake Country SPCA. A service celebrating Mac's life will be held at a later date.
