E. L. Williams

Mr. E. L. Williams, age 81, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Tanner Medical Center. He was born January 18, 1934 in Carroll County, Georgia, the son of the late Bromer L. Williams and the late Clovice Boatright Williams. He graduated from Villa Rica High School; served in the United States Army for four years; and was the owner-operator of E. L. & Son Grading Contractors. Mr. Williams was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Previously, he was a member and deacon at New Hope Baptist Church for over thirty-five years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Williams. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Ballenger Williams of Carrollton; daughter and son-in-law, Denise & Barry Driver of Carrollton; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky & Tonya Williams of Villa Rica; sisters and brothers-in-law: Joan & Terry Sims of Bowdon and Shelvie & Carl Lambert of Carrollton; brother, Joel Williams, also of Carrollton; grandchildren: Chad & Kalie Williams of Temple, Drew Williams of Atlanta, Noah Williams of Villa Rica, Hanna Driver and Holli Driver, both of Carrollton; and two great grandchildren: Brayden Anderson and Allie Creel, both of Carrollton. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Chad Williams officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Chad Williams, Drew Williams, Noah Williams, Jamie Creel, Scott Pope and Corey Pearson. Interment will follow at West Georgia Memorial Park with Rev. Ralph Ploof presiding. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the hour of service. Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
