Douglas Carl Earls

PRINCETON- Chief Master Sergeant Douglas Carl ‘Doug' Earls, 69, of 1811 Honaker Ave., Princeton, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, Feb. 4,2001, at his home with his family by his side. Born Oct. 11, 1931, in Canebrake, he was the son of Carl Neil Earls of Canebrake and the late Sallie Peery Earls. Mr. Earls was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict serving with the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service as a Chief Master Sergeant. Doug was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church on the Oakvale Road in Princeton. He was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors, in addition to his father, include his wife of 47 years, Billie Nichols Earls of Princeton; sons, Michael D. Earls and wife, Rena of Hudson, Fla., C.Stevens Earls and wife, Cynde of Eustis, Fla. and Randy A. Earls and wife, Tern of Boiling Springs, N.C.; daughter, Sandra K. Elmore and husband, Eric of Princeton; 11 grandchildren, HM3 Eric M. Earls and wife, Amy, Erin M. Earls, Ian E. Earls, Sarah N. Earls, Nathan S. Earls, Aaron J. Earls, Ethan J. Earls, Joshua D. Earls, William D. Earls, Richard J. Gillespie and Dylan J.Gillespie; two step grandchildren, Jeffery C. Elmore and Logan M. Elmore; sisters, LorettaAsbury of Canebrake and Brenda Bowling and husband, Jack of Maryland; and brothers,Bill Earls and wife, Jean of Bluefield, Va. and John Earls and wife, Boots of Columbia, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Revs. Wallace Smith and Glen Hornbuckle officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton where military graveside rites will be conducted by Pope Air Force Base Honor Guard.
