About Dorwin Carroll
Dorwin D. Carroll, 86, a longtime resident of Santa Maria, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2022, at his home in San Diego, Ca. He was born to Dalton and Evelyn Carroll in Porterville, CA. Dorwin moved to the Santa Maria Valley in the late 1950s and had a long career working for ITT Kellogg and ITT Federal Electric at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Dorwin also had a thriving income tax business as well as a spa and repair business. He is survived by his brothers, Doug (Pam) and Jim (Judy), son Kris, stepdaughters Michelle Larsen and Renee Greenwood, daugher-in-law Shelley, nine grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Irene, son Jeffry (Shelley), sister Mary Lou Scruggs, and Jeffry's and Kris's mother Mary Ann Gervais. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 on Thursday, April 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Magner-Maloney Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the original section of the Santa Maria Cemetery. The family requests sharing fond memories of Dorwin during a celebration of life at Maramonte Park Clubhouse, 620 E. Sunrise Dr., Santa Maria, CA 93455 between 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Mission Hope Cancer Center in Santa Maria to support their Prostate Cancer Support Group and Rehabilitation Program.
