About Dorothy Woodard
Dorothy Ann Woodard, 93, of Reading, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Laurels of Coldwater. She was born in Jonesville, Michigan on January 12, 1930, to Arthur and Pauline (Howard) Craddock. In addition to being a long-time resident of Hillsdale County, Dorothy also lived in both Boulder County, Colorado and Branch County, Michigan for a short period of time. She enjoyed reading romance novels and magazines, completing word puzzles, shopping, sipping on a cup of coffee or lemonade, as well as sitting outside in the shade of a tree while spending time with family. She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alice Cole and Mary Lieby; brother, Howard Craddock; life companion, Milford McFarland; second husband, Alson Willard Woodard; first husband, Norman Bigelow; and sons, Norman "Butch" Bigelow, Richard Bigelow and Kevin Bigelow. Surviving are her children, Gordon (Becky Teller) Bigelow, Carol (Roger Girdham) Sheely, Dollie (Steven) Carlson, Allyson (Jerry) Baker, Smith (Teresa Walling) Woodard, Denver (Tonya Walling) Woodard and Marialyce (Bryan) Bumpus. Dorothy was the grandmother to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren in her lifetime. A memorial service for Dorothy Woodard will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading with Rev. Alan Fenstermaker officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Private family burial will take place at Bankers Cemetery at a later date.
