About Dorothy Labarge
Curnow Funeral Home After 72 years of love, family and faith, Jean LaBarge passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017. Jean died peacefully after a short bout with cancer, surrounded by family, at Franciscan Hospice House. Dorothy Jean LaBarge was born June 13, 1945, in Spokane, Washington, the loving daughter of Robert and Mary Sonderman. She married Steven Ray LaBarge in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho May 24, 1991. She was a professional cook for many years, and she and Steve owned a construction business. In her free time, she was an avid reader and loved gardening. She was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sumner Ward. Survivors include her siblings, Edward Sonderman (wife Lee and daughter Kimberly), LuAnn Osso (Reme and son, Taylor), Carey Olinger (Brian, Josh and Adam), Robert Sonderman (Felicia, Veronica and Cameron); her children, Nancy Ackerman (husband Scott and daughter Savannah), Mitchell Ackerman (Lenni, children Sophie, Avery and Aiden), Tia Parks (children Samuel and Sadie); stepchildren, Crystal LaBarge, Wendy LaBarge (children Rebecca, Sylvia and Steve) and Will LaBarge (wife Heidi and daughter Piper). Jean was preceded in death by her parents and husband. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Sumner Ward, 512 Valley Avenue East, Sumner, Washington with reception following.
