About Doris Shearer
Doris J. Shearer, age 94, of Greenwood , IN, passed away on Tuesday January 17, 2023 after a brief illness. She was born to Marvin and Mary (Hays) Hardin in Hazzard, KY on March 7 1928. She grew up in Kentucky and Scottsburg, IN. She married Lyndon Shearer on November 1, 1947 and settled in Indianapolis, IN. she was a homemaker. Doris leaves behind her son, Ronald Shearer (Cindy); daughter, Marsha Banks; grandsons, Brian Banks and Matt Cummings; granddaughter, christie Montgomery (Mark); great grandsons Austin (Jessica), Clay and Dylan Banks, Steven and Michael Montgomery; and great granddaughters, Kelly and Brooks Montgomery; along with a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lyndon Shearer; her parents, Marvin and Mary Hardin; her sister, Pauline Smith; and brother, John Hardin. There will be no visitation, but a memorial graveside service will be held at a date to be determined in Scottsburg, IN. The family requests that those wanting to make a memorial contribution in her name do so to their favorite charity. Final arrangements have been entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care--Greenwood Chapel.
