About Dorilla Bagley
Presque Isle - Dorilla "Dilly" Bagley passed away on April 21st, 2022 at her home in Presque Isle, Maine. She was born to Ambrose G. McDougal and Flossie (Carmen) McDougal on January 17, 1935. She was the youngest of 10 children. Orphaned at 2, she was raised by "Grammy" and "Grampy" Kenney, in Mapleton, Maine. She graduated from Mapleton High School and was proud to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in teaching from Aroostook State Teacher's College in 1956. True to her love of children, she led many groups throughout her life, like Junior Grange, Girl Scouts, and Cub Scouts. She loved animals and her husband indulged this with various four-legged creatures throughout the years. She was a faithful member of Grant Memorial Methodist Church since 1959. She loved to make gifts and pick up a little something for those who came to mind. Dilly always had her hands in a knitting project or her flower garden. The self-proclaimed 'tom boy' could often be seen with her Mapleton hat and berry bucket, frogging, fishing, and running the roads of Aroostook County with her many grandchildren. A farmer's wife, she was married for 57 years to the late Sterling R. Bagley and they shared 5 children. She is predeceased by her husband, daughter-in-law Tammy, and her 9 siblings.
