About Diane Zaccardi
CHAPEL HILL Diane Zaccardi (nee Heizenroth),70,of Chapel Hill passed away on Sunday, July 8,2018 at UNC Hospital. Diane was a most loving wife, mother, sister, friend, aunt, and grandmother. She was a generous host and neighbor, and an enthusiastic baker. Diane was an expert bridal pattern maker in her beloved New York City. Above all, she knew how to make people feel special and welcome. Her wisdom, warmth and positivity live on in all those whose lives she touched. Diane is survived by her husband of 48 years, Edward Paul Zaccardi; daughter Anne Zaccardi (Barbara); son David Zaccardi (Christine), and beloved granddaughters Cadence and Lily; sister Elizabeth Giron (Otto), brother Walter Heizenroth (Pauline), and sister Ingrid; cherished nieces Christine, Jennifer, and Sarah and nephew Walter August II, dear friends Anne and Roger Armstrong; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father Walter August Heizenroth and her mother Betty Lane. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Matthew Episcopal Church, 210 St. Marys Road, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
