About Daisy Anderson
Virginia Rawson Anderson, 95, of Cedar Grove Personal Care Center, formerly of Vienna, passed away Jan. 20, 2009. Mrs. Anderson was born April 12, 1913, at Cavin Fork, Jackson County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Robert M. and Lucy V. Boso Rawson. On April 12, 1933, she married Dewey E. Anderson, who passed away Jan. 7, 2005. Virginia and Dewey were longtime residents of Vienna prior to moving to Cedar Grove Personal Care in 2002. In 1999, Virginia and Dewey were honored as Vienna's "Mr. and Mrs. Senior Citizen" in the Christmas Parade. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Vienna Baptist Church, where she served as deaconess, Sunday school teacher and youth adviser. She retired from the former Dils Brothers Department Store in 1975. She is survived by her son, Laverne "Andy" Anderson and his wife, Barbara, of Windsor, Conn.; her daughter, Evelyn York and her husband, Jim, of Belpre; four grandsons, Michael E. Anderson, Thomas S. Anderson, David M. York and Robert A. York; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one sister-in-law, Lora Anderson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters; two brothers; and a great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Vienna Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Nathan E. Williams officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow in the Evergreen North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Vaughan Funeral Home, Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. For those considering an expression of sympathy, the family requests memorials be made to the Vienna Baptist Church.
