Obituary of D. Willie Golsby (April 25, 1924 ~ May 18, 2013) Biloxi, MS ~ Dea. D. Willie Golsby was born in Canton, MS. He retired from his Longshoreman position after 31 years of service. Mr. D. Willie was also a vendor of fresh fruits and vegetables at the Farmer's Market in Biloxi, D'Iberville and other coastal locations. He was a dedicated church member active in the Ushers' Ministry, Brotherhood, Male Choir and Men's Sunday School Class, transportation and Vacation Bible School Ministries. D. Willie Golsby passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the age of 89. Dea. Golsby was preceded in death by his parents, Dede and Willie Mae Golsby, son, Willie Huddleston, daughters, Gloria Golsby, Ora Lee Golsby and Maylin Brown, brothers, LaSalle Golsby and Robert Golsby, sister, Mary Ann Belger, and grandson, Norman Wilkerson. His fond memories will be forever cherished by his sons: Anthony "Chilly" Simmons and Robert Earl Golsby of Moss Point; daughters: Kathryn Wilkerson of Philadelphia, PA, Felicie P. Wells of Pascagoula, MS, Sonia Golsby-Smith of Sacramento, CA, Eugenia Johnson of Moss Point, Brenda of Moss Point, Janice of Pascagoula and Alfreda Taylor of Pascagoula; 34 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be 11 AM Saturday, May 25, 2013 at First MBC in Biloxi. Visitation will be at the church two hours prior to service time. Burial will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
