Concetta Vaccarello

Vaccarello, Concetta (1927 - 2007) Beloved Wife, Mother, Nonna, & Aunt age 80 of Rockford died Tues. 7:05 am Dec. 18, 2007, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 2, 1927, in Agrigento, Sicily, the daughter of Calogero & Teresa Volpe Russo. She lived 36 years in Rockford, coming here from Sicily. She married Giuseppe Vaccarello Nov 13, 1954 in Sicily. She was a member of St. Anthony Church. Concetta’s life was dedicated to her family; her passions were sewing, cooking, & baking. She enjoyed canning vegetables from her garden and sharing them with all. She also loved cooking special dishes for her grandchildren. The family would like to thank Northern Illinois Hospice, especially Rebecca & Pat for all their wonderful care & compassion. Special thanks also to Cousin Debbie for her weekly visits bringing Mom Communion. Survivors include: Husband Giuseppe, Son Sam Vaccarello, 5 Daughters Maria (Fidencio) Perez, Teresa (Doug) Donahue, Rosalie (Bob) England, Rita (Joe) Leon, Salvatrice (Rick) Pigatti, Grandchildren Matthew (Kristen), Kristina, Michael, Samantha, Brianna, Brother-in-law Frank Salamone, & also many nieces, nephews, & cousins all of Rockford. She was predeceased by Parents, Sisters Anna Salamone & Assunta Salamone, Brother Gerlando Russo, Mother-in-law Giuseppina Saieva Vaccarello, & Father-in-law Salvatore Vaccarello. Funeral Mass will be Saturday Dec 22, 2007 at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church with Franciscan Friars officiating. Visitation Friday, Dec 21, 2007 in Gasparini & Oliveri Funeral home from 4 pm until 7pm, rosary recited at 6 pm. Friends may also call Sat morning at the church from 9am until time of service. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established at a later date.
