Published in the Brownsville Herald - Tuesday, July 31, 2001 Page A6 Concepcion Pizana Pena, 96, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2001 at her residence. She was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pedro Pena; father, Tomas Pizana; Mother, Josefina Sandoval Pizana and three brothers, Guadalupe Pizana, Tomas Pizana and Rafael Pizana. She is survived by 1 Son, Pedro Pena, Jr. of Brownsville, Texas and two daughters, Sylvia Perales of Brownsville, Texas and Valentina (Tina) Gutierrez of Olmito, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Delores Pea (Pena); two son-in-laws, Andres Perales and Rafael Gutierrez; seven grandchildren, Sonya Garza, Sandra Garcia, Tomas Gutierrez, Andres Perales, Jr., Abel Perales, Tina Burnias and Michelle Gonzalez and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Tomas Gutierrez, Andres Perales, Jr., Abel Perales, Armando Garza, Adan Garcia and Jesse Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers will be Merced Burnias, Jr. and granddaughters, Sonya Garza, Sandra Garcia, Tina Burnias and Michelle Gonzalez. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, July 31, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Brownsville City Cemetery. A Rosary was held on Monday, July 30, 2001 at Garza Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garza Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 1025 E. Jackson St., 542-5511.
