Colleen Romero

On October 2, 2023. Colleen Dittmore Romero returned to her heavenly home to join all those who were longingly waiting for her. Colleen was born on November 28, 1938 in Lindon, Utah to William and Blanch (Downs) Dittmore. She was the youngest of four children and the only girl in her family. In 1957, she graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, where she enjoyed an active social life and various sports. On June 4, 1957 she married E. Gordon Romero in the Salt Lake City temple. They eventually settled in Seattle, Washington. They had three sons and two daughters, Jeff, Roger, Glenn, Vicky, and Shauna. They relocated to Idaho in 2017 to live with their son, Jeff.  Colleen enjoyed a lifetime of service including several callings in the church as relief society president, choir president, seminary teacher, family history specialist, missionary and various other callings. She was a talented artist and made countless paintings and cross-stitches for family, friends and even the occasional strangers. More than anything she loved the gospel and her family which included her 5 children, 21 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Blanch (Downs) Dittmore; her brothers, Austin and Boyd Dittmore; and grandson, Samuel Gallman. She is survived by her husband, Gordon Romero; brother, Maylin Dittmore; sons Jeff, Roger (Connie), and Glenn. Daughters Vicky (Terrence) Gallman and Shauna (Jason) Collins; grandchildren Cybil, Joshua (Madison), and Justin Romero; Cassandra (Kevin) Bowles, Nicole, John (Caitlin), Daniel (Ashley), Jamison and Connor Romero; Anthony McDonald, Kayla (Kala) Adviento, Jacob and Jayda Romero; Savanah (Matthew) Nelson, Sierra (Alex) Fowler, Mariah (Eddie) St. Clair, Gabriel and Nathan (My'Rion) Gallman; Samantha Romero and Benjamin Collins; and great grandchildren Kayley, Emma, Ammon, Samuel, Brielle, Isaac, Oliver, Ezias, Cassian, Elia, Melina, Abraham, Aayva, Emma, Ana, Leo, Nathaniel, Abigail, Lilia, Leila, Baby Romero and Baby Gallman.
