About Charles Laborde
From the Olean, NY "Times Herald", Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, Pg. A-4 --------------------------- Charles 'Frenchie' Laborde CUBA -- Charles "Frenchie" Laborde, of 2540 Haskell Road, Cuba, passed away Saturday (Feb.16, 2013) at the Olean General Hospital after a long illness. Born in France on Nov. 7, 1923, he was a son of the late Jean and Marie Saubot Laborde. In 1966, in Hinsdale, he married the former Dorothy E. Blood, who survives. He was a pilot for Lloyd Dahmen and later was a caretaker for the Dahmen Estates until his retirement. Charles was a member of the French underground during World War II and was a member of the French Air Force. He was also a member of St. Mary of the Angels Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sharron (Gerald) Kincaid of Cuba; four grandchildren, Brian (Kelly) Kincaid of Taneytown, Md., Scott Kincaid of Portville, Leigh Ann (John) Thompson of Atlanta, Ga., and Christopher (Nivia) Murray of Vienna, Va.; eight great-grandchildren; several brothers and sisters in France; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Funeral and committal services will be held at 10 a.m. at the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean. Father Gregory Dobson, pastor of St. Mary of the Angels Church, will officiate. Burial will be in West Clarksville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
