CHARLEEN IRBY OBITUARY CHARLEEN MAY IRBY Charleen May Irby was born Charleen May Frantz on March 14, 1933 in Hastings Nebraska. She was born to Charles Frantz & Grace "Maxine" Esther Dick. She is survived by her children, Michael Brown, as well as twin daughters Victoria Leigh Taylor & Valerie Brown Yates. She was initially also survived by her eldest son, William Johnson Brown Jr., however Bill passed away just 2 days following his mothers passing. Charleen is also lovingly survived by her grandchildren, Angela Meli, Jennifer Small, Robert Taylor, Kelly Alvarez, Evan Brown, Zachary Milbourn, Sean Brown, Gregory Brown. Charleen especially doted on her great-grand babies Simon Meli, Breyon Small, Sydney Small, Jack Alvarez, Lily Milbourn, and Luna Alvarez. Charleen moved to San Jose, CA as a child, where she grew up, married and raised her children. She earned a Master's degree in Marriage & Family Counseling from San Jose State University in 1980, at a time when a Masters was uncommon for a woman. She enjoyed a long and rewarding career in Behavioral Health. In 1999, Charleen traded the city life for a slower pace in Magalia, CA, where she lived until November 8, 2018, when she lost her home alongside thousands of others in the tragic Camp Fire. Charleen, who became lovingly known by her family as "GG" in her later years, will be remembered for her intelligence, passion for genealogical research, love of her pets, interest in fiction & non-fiction books, doll collections, donating to charitable organizations, and of course the joy that anything Wizard of Oz brought to her space. Food was love to GG, and if she wasn't rerouting you to her goodie cabinet at home, she was leaving room for dessert when eating out. Most importantly, Charleen will be remembered as a woman who adored her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who went to great efforts to make life interesting and fun for everyone she loved.
