Cathryn Franklin

Cathryn Tullis Franklin, age 89, of Dacula, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023. Cathryn was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Randolph Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Watson and Azilee Tullis; sisters, Jeanette Pruett and Ruth Rooks; and her son-in-law, Lonnie Holcombe. Cathryn is survived by children, Angelia Holcombe, Kathy (Carl) Bennett and Randy (Lynn) Franklin II; grandchildren, Christy (Johnny) Pence, Stacy (Sam) Heng, Matt (Lisa) Holcombe, Amber (Gary) Wickham, Mona Johnson, Jeremy Bennett, Amanda (Jesse) Harp; 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Cathryn was a native of Dacula, Georgia. She was born in Auburn, Georgia, but lived most of her life in Dacula. Cathryn graduated from Dacula High School and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia. Cathryn grew up singing at church, events, graduations and even on the radio. She loved cooking, baking, gardening and all animals, but her greatest love was for Jesus and her family. As the devoted matriarch of the Franklin family, Cathryn fiercely loved her husband, her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To know her was to love her. A funeral service to honor the life of Cathryn Franklin will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia. Interment will follow at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Dacula, Georgia. Cathryn will lie in state on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:30 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Tom M. Wages Lawrenceville Chapel in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
