About Catherine Burnes Burke
Completed arrangements are being announced for Catherine Burnes Burke, 81, of Rives. She died 6:30 am June 1, 2009, at her home. Services will be 2 pm Wednesday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Julian Huey officiating. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5-8 pm today. Pallbearers will be family members. She was born Nov. 6, 1927, in Crandon, Wisc, daughter of the late Orin Lester and Irene (McCormick) Tupper. She married William B. Burnes April 20, 1955. He died Dec. 15, 1968. She had been employed by American Greeting Card Distributors and was a Catholic. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Arthur and Chris Burnes and Lester and Mary Burnes, all of Union City, and Kenneth Burnes of Rives; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Bernice Boone of Union City, Mary Vanderlaan of Muskegon, Mich., Margaret and Jerry Handley of Union, Okla., and Dorothy and Ralph Sprayberry of Wichita, Kan.; five stepchildren; and 18 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
