Carolyn Quarles

Carolyn Cooper Quarles, 62, her daughter Kimberly, 34, and husband Tony Alexander, 42, and their two daughters, Brianne, 8, and Emily, 6 of Bryant, Alabama went home to be with their Lord and Savior on January 1, 2016. Carolyn was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and care giver to which she has taken care of her mother for the last 6 years until her passing 3 weeks ago. Kimberly was a wife, mother, home maker and employed at Walmart on Signal Mountain Road. She was a friend to everyone she met and she loved her family. Kim married Tony Alexander whom worked at Fire Brick Engineer Co. He was a husband, father, and great provider for his family. Brianne attended the second grade and Emily attended Kindergarten at Bryant Elementary School. The girls enjoyed going to school, playing, were full of life, and lite up the world with their beautiful smiles, that will be forever remembered. Words cannot express the loss that our family, friends, school, coworkers, and community feel. All five of you will be deeply and forever loved and missed. Gone but never forgotten. Carolyn was preceded in death by daughter Amanda Quarles, father Lindsey Cooper, mother Mary Louise Cooper, sisters Cynthia Harris, and Linda Sue Cooper. Kimberly was preceded in death by her sister Amanda Quarles and grandmother Mary Cooper. Tony was preceded in death by his father Ricky Pressley. Survivors of Carolyn include her daughter Jennifer Quarles Smith of Rainsville, Al; three grandchildren Ray, Harley, and Alexis Smith all of Trenton, GA; three brothers James and Donna Cooper of Flat Rock, Al, John and Karen Cooper of Bryant, AL; David and June Cooper of Rising Fawn, GA, one sister Vicky and Randy Ridgeway of DuQuoin, IL; also several nieces, nephews, and great nieces, nephews. Survivors of Kimberly include her Sister Jennifer Quarles Smith, half sister Brenda Lucas, two nephews, one niece, also several aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Surviving Tony include a son Brandon Alexander of South Pittsburg, TN, mother Faye Faircloth of Ellerbe, NC; one brother Wayne Benfield of Ellerbe, NC; one sister Michelle Duncan of Moore County, NC; aunt Debbie Pressley, and uncle Ray Alexander. Special thanks to the first responders, fire departments, neighbors, the Bryant Community, those who have donated to the GoFundMe account or to Citizens Bank and Trust in Trenton, GA, to the people that have donated their time or opened their home for a meal that was so graciously prepared. Thank you to the media for their excellent coverage of our family's loss, to Ryan Funeral Home for their caring and attentive detail with the family and especially with the children, to Jerald Byrum of Scottsboro, AL for digging the grave, and a special thank you to Walmart #3659 employees for the touching tribute to Kimberly Alexander, and most of all, Thank You for the prayers for the family. Graveside services will be held 2:30 PM EST Saturday January 9, 2016 at Bryant Cemetery located on County Road 266, Bryant, AL 35958 with Rev. Wayne Winters officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 AM until 2 PM EST at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, Trenton, GA.
