Carlos Fernando Fackrell

Obituary from serenityfhs.com: It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of our hero, Carlos F Fackrell. We will miss him dearly, but we are also comforted to know he is with our beloved mother, Linda Fackrell. Carlos was born January 25, 1935 in San Diego, CA to Howard and Lupe Fackrell. He was one of eight children. Carlos attended grammar and secondary schools in San Diego and went on to attend college. He played football for Cal Berkley and then attended BYU where he met his wife, Linda, in a dance class. Carlos married Linda in 1961, they remained married and in love until her passing in 2010. Together they begat 10 children; Carlos D, Samuel, Whitney, Derek, Joey, Philip(Rhys), Maxcy, Ashley, Cassidy and Colby. Carlos has 42 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Carlos did many things to support his family throughout his life, but finally found a home when he joined Costco Wholesale in 1983, he remained with Costco until he retired. At Costco it was not uncommon for his employees to adopt him as a father or grandfather to their children, and Carlos loved it. Anyone who came in contact with Carlos was instantly in love with his jovial personality and his tough exterior but tender heart. He was a man that was loyal to his family and his integrity. He was the type of man that would put others' needs above his own, even until the end. He courageously fought a physical battle so that his children could be at peace before he left this temporal life. Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 12101 South 700 West, Draper UT. Viewing will be held from 10:00 am- 12:30 pm. Funeral services will begin and 1:00 pm with internment at Camp Williams, Veteran Memorial Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
