OBITUARY FOR CARL CHARLES ABBOTT SOURCE: MORNING SUN DATE PUBLISHED: WEDNESDAY, MAY 17, 2017 PAGE 2A Carl "Chuck" Abbott, age 71, of Shepherd (Isabella County), Michigan, passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017, at his home, located in Coe Township, Isabella County, Michigan. Chuck was born October 3, 1945, in Lansing (Ingham County), Michigan, the son of Orval and Reva (Baldwin) Abbott. On July 25, 1969, he married Karen Sue Recker. In his younger years, he was an avid golfer, softball and basketball player. He also enjoyed fishing, farming, watching the Detroit Tigers, playing cards with his children and grandchildren and spending time with his family. There will be a funeral service on Friday, May 19, at 11:00 A.M. at the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd (Isabella County), Michigan with Gary Lutes officiating. There will be a private family viewing from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. before the service. Chuck is survived by his wife, Karen; six children, Valerie (Richard) McCullough, of Shepherd (Isabella County), Michigan, Karen (David) Burr Abbott and Tammy (Jeff) Meyer, of Mt. Pleasant (Isabella County), Michigan, Kelley (Gary) Moeggenberg, of Shepherd (Isabella County), Michigan and Suzell (Ed) Eisenberger, Escanaba, Michigan and James Struble, of Shepherd (Isabella County), Michigan; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and four siblings, Don (Cathy) Abbott, of Farwell (Clare County), Michigan, Ken Abbott, of St. Louis (Gratiot County), Michigan, Beverly Smith, of Port Huron (St. Clair County), Michigan and Judy Corr, of Lansing (Ingham County), Michigan.
