About C. Coates
Obituary: C. Woodrow Coates, 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, at Marion County Medical Center after an illness. He was born in Horry County, a son of the late Cassie and Bertie King Coates. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was retired from the City of Conway. Survivors include his wife, Lib Coates of Aynor; a son, Glenn Curtis Coates of Conway; a daughter, Nellie Sawyer of Aynor; three grandchildren, Crystal Seaver, Justin Coates and Savannah Coates; two great-grandchildren, Hannah Seaver and Noah Seaver; two brothers, Cleve Coates of Conway and Kelly Coates of Tennessee; and two sisters, Eula Alford of Wilmington, N.C., and Beulah Lane of Loris. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church. The Revs. Larry Peavy and Lamar Squires will officiate. Burial will be in Aynor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 48th Ave. N., Myrtle Beach, SC 29577, or to Faith Baptist Church, P.O. Box 117, Aynor, SC 29511.
