About C. Boyle

C. Lee Boyle, Jr. (April 22, 1923 - November 29, 2014) U.S. Veteran C. Lee Boyle, Jr., age 91 of Millville, DE formerly of Levittown, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Lee was born in Trenton, NJ on April 22, 1923 son of the late C. Lee and Katherine (Nyman) Boyle. He graduated from Trenton High School and was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Coast Guard as part of the horse patrol in Bethany Beach, DE and also in the South Pacific on a communications station on Atafu Island north of Samoa. He retired as a manager with over 34 years of service with Roebling & Co., which built and fabricated the steel wire rope for suspension bridges. After his retirement and move to Delaware Lee enjoyed working part-time at Lord’s Landscaping in Millville, DE. Lee was very active in his church and seemed to volunteer his time on every committee at the Langhorne United Methodist Church in PA and loved attending Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, DE. He also gave tours at William Penn’s estate, Pennsbury Manor in Morrisville, PA and at the Fenwick Lighthouse in Fenwick Island, DE. He loved the ocean, swimming, going to the beach, and riding his bike. Lee was also an avid gardener and was known to be able to fix almost anything; however, the most important thing to Lee was his family. Lee will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth McCabe Boyle in 2013; a brother, Robert Boyle and a sister, Virginia Rainier. He is survived by 2 sons, Charles Lee (Cheryl) Boyle, III of New Hope, PA and Kenneth M. (Claudia) Boyle of Yardley, PA and a daughter, Donna L. (William) Lord of Millville, DE. Lee is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Lord, Stacey (Dennis) Dixon, Melissa Boyle, Amy (Patrick) Hughes, Charles Lee Boyle, IV, Kenneth M. Boyle, Jr. and Hannah Boyle and 3 great grandchildren, William Lord, Cooper Lord and Kathryn Hughes. A masonic service followed by the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may call after 12 noon. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Lee’s name to the Youth Ministries at Mariner’s, c/o Mariner’s UMC, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970. Melson Funeral Services
