C. A. Boling

C.A. Boling, age 70, a longtime Cushing resident, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Cushing. Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing. C.A. was born on February 16, 1939 in Perkins to the late Horace Lenell and Vera Marie (Williams) Boling. He grew up in Perkins and lived across the street from Frank Eaton (the original "Pistol Pete" of O.S.U.) where he enjoyed listening to many of his stories. He moved to Cushing and attended Cushing schools, graduating from Cushing High School in 1957. C.A. married Sue Taylor on October 3, 1960 in Cushing. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1956. C.A. retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1993, having served during the desert storm. He was proud to have served his country. C.A. worked for the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture in the meat inspection division, serving the northwest part of the state. He retired after twenty five years of service. They attended the First Nazarene Church. He was a member of the N.R.A. C.A. enjoyed gunsmithing and attending gun shows. He loved watching the O.U. Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. C.A. also enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working, and refinishing furniture. He loved spending time with family and friends. C. A. is survived by his wife of 49 years Sue Boling of the home, sons Kevin Boling and wife Dionne of Cushing, Mark Boling of Oklahoma City, daughter Janna Shaffer of Cushing, grandchildren Jett Shaffer, Olivia Boling, Alexandra Boling, Jacob Boling, Hailey Craig and Rachel Craig, brother Jim Boling of Clinton, sister Ina Price and husband Bobby of Cushing, aunt Charlene Endicott of Cushing, and numerous nieces and nephews.
