About Brianna Dabbs

Obituary (Partial) Brianna "Breezy" Dabbs, 14, of Clinton Township, passed away November 13, 2014. She was born July 3, 2000 in Troy. Breezy was a ninth grade student at L'Anse Creuse High School, Harrison Township, and played trombone with the Marching Lancers and Jazz Band. She was predeceased by her grandparents, Virginia and John Manville and Arline and Jimmy Dabbs. She will be dearly missed by her family of 200 L'Anse Creuse Marching Lancers, and by so many others whose hearts she touched. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-9:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home 40800 Hayes Rd, Clinton Township, 48038. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 am at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38900 Harper, Clinton Township, MI 48036. If there was ever a person who wanted to heal all the wrongs in the world, it was Brianna "Breezy" Dabbs. She was an idealist who sought to bring harmony to those around her. Even though Breezy was enthusiastic and generous, it was sometimes difficult for her to boast about her accomplishments. Breezy had strong personal convictions, making it hard for her to relinquish those ideals she held dearest to herself. Despite her outer strengths and beliefs, Breezy sometimes struggled in her efforts to see the world as completely positive. Breezy's life motto was always to hope for the best and work hard towards that end, but be prepared for some of life's disappointments. This philosophy was a continual driving force in her life, but it did not extinguish the bright light that defined the dreamer in Breezy, something that was always there and that she readily shared with everyone around her. Breezy was born on July 3, 2000 at Troy Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. Breezy was raised in Harrison Township, Michigan. As a youngster, Breezy demonstrated an excellent vocabulary and command of language. She was a compassionate person, a quality that she would carry with her throughout her life. Even at a young age, Breezy was sensitive to her parents' moods and worked hard to please them and live up to their expectations. Throughout her life, Breezy showed a remarkable ability to mend relationships. This was true even with her siblings. Breezy was caring, diplomatic and tolerant of the feelings of those around her. Breezy was raised with one sibling. She had an older brother. Breezy was constantly involved in activities with her brother. Breezy and her brother had the typical rivalries while growing up, but they cared deeply for one another. As a young girl, Breezy lived a childhood filled with fantasy. She was generally in pursuit of her own identity, but she was also adaptable to almost any situation she faced. Breezy took part in baseball and track. She was a member of middle school band and choir. In her spare time she liked karaoke, art, and fishing. Breezy's memorable achievements included All-Star T-Ball team, choir solo, and she was an excellent fisherman. However, to Breezy, the most fun to be had was simply playing, and spending time with her many friends. High school was a time for Breezy to seek out knowledge. She enjoyed learning and had a natural interest in gathering information. Breezy had a flair for the poetic and was very expressive and articulate, especially when it came to her writing. Breezy took her education seriously. She enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was Band. The teacher she enjoyed learning from the most was Mr. Hilton. Breezy was a 2014 Marching Band State Finalist. While those who did not know her well found Breezy to be somewhat reserved until they got to know her, she was an authentic and devoted friend. Breezy was a tranquil person, with an easygoing and open-minded attitude towards life. She presented a pleasant face to the outside world but concealed the pain and discomfort she felt over her own friends' difficulties. Breezy sought to achieve harmony with everyone and possessed the ability to mend conflicts and avoid interpersonal struggles. While growing up, some of her best friends were dear neighbors and cousins. Breezy's tremendous enthusiasm for the activities she enjoyed also influenced the pleasure she drew from sports. In high school, Breezy played in the Marching Band. Breezy also enjoyed watching sports and liked following her favorite teams whenever she got the chance to do so. Breezy took all of her personal and moral obligations seriously. Breezy was a strong defender of her faith. She was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church. Being a selfless person, Breezy did not seek approval from her peers, but she valued the recognition she received for her good deeds. Some of her most prestigious awards included Most Improved Singer in South Saber Singers in 8th grade. She received this award, after constantly trying out for solos that year, she finally got one at the last concert. She was most proud of her medal she received recently at State Finals for Marching Band. Breezy enjoyed traveling and going away on vacations. Taking trips provided the chance for her to kick back and relax, to visit new places and see new things. Favorite vacations included Dominican Republic, Las Vegas, Arizona, and Hawaii. Breezy's dream as a little girl was to travel to Hawaii and she was able to fulfill her this past July with her Uncle and Aunt. Breezy was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of Breezy's favorites was her "most prized possession" Friday, her cat. Friday would wake Breezy up every morning by pawing her back. She also waited by the door when Breezy came home from school. Her other household cat is Meso. Breezy called her "Fatty." Breezy was constantly trying to win Meso's affections, not to much avail. Brianna "Breezy" Dabbs was someone who was able to see the world as a good and honorable place. She viewed the people who inhabited it as essentially good. A person who tended to see the world in terms of black and white, Breezy tried to focus on the good she saw, knowing that there were times she would have to compromise. She was selfless and deeply committed to all things positive and good. Breezy was a person who would keep her eye on tomorrow and constantly held onto her dreams. She was capable of being mystical at times, and she could be the seer or shaman of a group. It was this exceptional insight and quiet reserve that that became Breezy's trademark qualities for all who knew her, and it was one of the many reasons why all who knew her loved Brianna "Breezy" Dabbs. -Published by Resurrection Funeral Home, Clinton Twp., Michigan, 2014.
